Road Trip – OREGON COAST

A little remote and quiet but worth the effort, Bandon Dunes and the Oregon Coast is a must-go-to locale. Begin/end at the Ducks’ university town of Eugene and enjoy great valley courses as well. The rains are coming, go before mid-October.
Sample 7 night/8 day itinerary averaging: Quality
& Cost
1. Fly to Eugene (connect through Portland or San Francisco), rent a car, stay (1 night) at the Hilton hotel. Eat at Beppe & Gianni’s (classic italian) and back to Skinner’s at the hotel for a nightcap.
2. Drive to Florence on the coast and play Sandpines. Stay on the beach at the Driftwood Shores (1 night - get the golf package), ride dune buggies in the afternoon and don’t miss the clam chowder at Mo’s (chowder house).
3. Drive to Bandon Dunes and check-in to the Bandon Dunes Resort (2 nights). You must walk Pacific Dunes (caddie suggested). In the evening stroll to McKees (scottish pub) at the resort for dinner.
4. Early round at Bandon Dunes (walk/caddie) and then ride Bandon Crossings in the town of Bandon (36 hole day). Dine at Alloro (coastal mediterranean) in town.
5. Play Bandon Trails (again walk), then drive back inland to Canyonville. Stay at the Seven Feathers Casino (1 night) and eat at Stix Sports Bar (american).
6. Drive to golf at Myrtle Creek and then continue back to Eugene staying at the Valley River Inn (2 nights). Dinner and music (blues) on-site at Sweetwaters (fine dining).
7. Head into the mountains and tee it up at Tokatee. Back in town, go to the Boulevard Grill (steakhouse) and finish at Taylors, off-campus, for an Animal House experience.
8. Best local course is Emerald Valley if necessary before the airport.
